Brand Showcase | Potts Point Psychology

I was reached out to by the owner of Potts Point Psychology, a psychology practice for Clinicians in Potts Point Sydney who was looking for a website and logo design to be created for their business. It was extremely important to the client that the beautiful building that Potts Point is located in was the main focus for the branding design.

In terms of design direction, the client had a clear idea in mind of an industrial style design for the website, showcasing some photography of the Potts Point area that had been taken by their nephew. They also wanted to incorporate the design of a hand drawn illustration of the building that had been done by one of their friends.

We used these two elements as a starting point and began the design process by working on a mood board that combined these two design directions. This process started with a Pinterest board created by the client that featured existing logo designs illustrations and colour schemes that fit with the clients desired direction.

This was refined down into two mood boards showcasing two different design directions. One direction focusing on a calm and modern design style and the other a more industrial and vintage style.

From here we moved forward with the softer direction and the logo design process began. The first step was to sketch out a variety of ideas focusing on the idea of a ‘calm’, ‘minimalist’, ‘modern’ and ‘caring’ design. Once these initial sketches had been created the best options were digitised, refined and developed further.

The client was presented with two different concepts and chose to move forward with the main entrance as their chosen concept.

From here the design was refined to include more detail in the front door and to enlarge the plant so that it matched more closely with the original illustration that had been created. These changes were exactly what the client was after and the design was finalised and ready to be used as part of the website design.
